Plane Crash in Brazil: 62 Dead

Passenger Plane Carrying 58 Passengers and 4 Crew Crashes Outside São Paulo

A passenger plane carrying 61 people crashed on Friday outside São Paulo, Brazil. VoePass Flight 2283 crashed Friday toward the end of a scheduled two-hour flight from Manaus to São Paulo.

The plane crashed in the city of Vinhedo, about 60 miles from São Paulo. All 61 people on board were killed, including 58 passengers and 4 crew members.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. According to Voepass Linhas Aéreas, the plane was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members when it crashed. Dramatic social media videos on Friday afternoon show a small plane crashing in a residential area.

This is the second plane crash in Brazil in less than a year. In November 2016, a plane carrying 71 people crashed in Colombia, killing all on board.
